What You’ll Learn in M.O.R.E. 2.0

How do Motor actions, Oral skills, Respiration, and Eyes work together to shape regulation and posture?

M.O.R.E. is an acronym for a framework recognising the influence of the suck-swallow-breathe (SSB) synchrony on all aspects of development and function from infancy through adulthood. It reflects the relationships among Motor action, Oral skill, Respiration and Eyes.

The M.O.R.E. Course originated from clinical work in the 1980s an

d has been continually updated to align with current research. It equips therapists and professionals working with children with sensory-motor, sensory processing, and developmental differences with practical, applicable skills. Highly regarded by senior clinicians and recommended as a foundational course for early-career therapists, M.O.R.E. provides core principles that underpin effective intervention across diverse treatment approaches.

What You’ll Learn in This Course

In this course, you’ll deepen your understanding of how the SSB synchrony influences all aspects of development and function, and why it is such a critical factor in dysfunction. You’ll learn how oral-motor and respiratory coordination impact sensory processing, motor control, regulation, feeding, communication, and overall development.

Throughout the training, you will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of how SSB synchrony underpins both typical and atypical development.

  • Develop the skills to identify even subtle dysfunction in SSB patterns through informed observation.

  • Strengthen your knowledge of typical versus atypical function to enhance clinical reasoning.

  • Learn simple, inexpensive, and highly effective treatment strategies that can positively impact multiple areas of development.

  • Build evaluation and treatment skills that support intervention across a variety of populations and diagnoses.

This isn’t just about following a protocol; it’s about observing, understanding, and responding in a way that truly supports children’s sensory, motor, and behavioural development.

Participant Comments

“Very Good! Good practical examples so that I could make connections between what was discussed and my students I have in the classroom.”

“Good take-home ideas (and) info for tying it all together. Excellent course variety, lecture, slides, video, labs.”

“. . .these principles are not taught or shared in any other course I have taken. You are able to blend the science with the clinical application. Information was rich and robust. I am amazed how you both synthesize all this information into understandable pieces.”
